In the beginning

Perth Vet Emergency first opened in 2009 to bridge the after hours gap in emergency care. Our facilities are equipped with modern radiology, ultrasound, and surgical equipment so you can be sure your pet is in the best place to receive the highest quality care.

Since taking over the practice in 2014, Principal Veterinarian Dr Penny Seet has worked tirelessly to build a team of dedicated and empathetic veterinarians, nurses, and client care specialists. Together, their passion has driven our standards of care and professionalism to a whole new level (just take a look at our reviews on Google!).

Because we live and breathe emergency medicine, a number of our veterinarians hold a membership with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists. Memberships are an official recognition of a veterinarian’s knowledge and experience in a designated field of veterinary science. For our team, that field is specifically Emergency and Critical Care, although a number of our team also hold Memberships in other fields.

We encourage fear free handling techniques!

We strongly believe that your pet’s visit (and yours!) should be as stress free as possible. You can be assured that your veterinarian will take the necessary steps to ease your pet’s fear and anxiety often associated with going to the vet.

We do this by tailoring our service to each individual patient, including using special handling techniques combined with medications (if needed) to help your pet relax during their stay with us. We also use dog and cat pheromones to increase your pet’s feelings of familiarity and security. Many of our team members are accredited fear-free practitioners trained in fear-free techniques and we pride ourselves on taking the very best care of our patients.

We’re here to help put your mind at ease

    • We understand the stressful situation of having a sick or injured pet, especially after hours when your usual vet is closed.
    • We’re here to help take care of your pet in their hour of need.
    • We believe that pets should have access to emergency veterinary care after hours, on weekends and on public holidays too.
