Our clinical team at Perth Veterinary Emergency is expanding and this role has been newly created to manage our clinical standards and set the strategic direction for our clinical teams.

Supported by our Hospital Director, Dr Penny Seet, this is an opportunity for an experienced or aspiring senior Veterinarian to develop further in a senior leadership role.

About us

Perth Vet Emergency is a busy and progressive 24-hour emergency clinic situated in Yokine, central Perth. We are a trusted leader in Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) for small animals and our vision is to set the highest possible standard for ECC medicine in Australia. We accomplish this by consistently providing quality services for small animals, whilst maintaining close relationships with our primary care veterinary practices. We have an inclusive and compassionate team of Client Care Representatives, Management, Nurses and Veterinarians.

About our role

The Hospital Clinical Manager role forms part of the leadership team and sets and manages PVE’s clinical standards, with full oversight of the Veterinary and Nursing teams.

The role has significant responsibility in the development and success of our veterinary and nursing team, as well as collaborating and receiving support from our Hospital Director to plan, progress and nurture the growth of our emergency and critical care service.

We are seeking someone who is passionate about helping our team achieve their goals and fostering a culture of continual development and operational excellence. You will have the opportunity to share your knowledge and mentor our clinical team, who are at various stages in their career

Specific tasks include:

  • Oversight of the clinical team
  • Attend senior leadership meetings
  • Implement a strategy for the clinical direction of the practice
  • Regular performance appraisals and feedback with veterinary team members to develop their skills in line with business and personal goals
  • Coordination of educational material and guidelines in conjunction with clinic and team requirements, and to improve patient outcomes
  • Coordinate coaching and training opportunities for our veterinary team in procedures, diagnosis and treatment
  • Clinical case reviews and liaison with clients and team members requiring follow up
  • Recruitment and Selection
  • Foster trusted and professional working relationships with referring veterinarians

With a balance of rostered clinical shifts and dedicated management hours, the Senior Clinical Manager role is flexible in its rostering, given we are open 24/7.
