For many years, Perth Vet Emergency (PVE) has been there for Perth pets and their families when they needed emergency care most. We are proud of the trust our community has placed in us and grateful to have cared for thousands of pets across Western Australia.
We’re excited to share an important update about the future of our hospitals.
From 6 October 2026, Perth Vet Emergency will begin transitioning to the Animal Emergency Service (AES) name, bringing our Western Australian hospitals into alignment with the national emergency veterinary network that has supported PVE for many years.
What Does This Mean for Pet Owners?
While our name is changing, the things that matter most are staying the same.
You’ll continue to see the same dedicated emergency teams, the same commitment to exceptional patient care, and the same focus on supporting pets and their families through veterinary emergencies.
From 6 October:
- Our Yokine hospital will relocate to a new purpose-built facility in Osborne Park.
- The new AES Osborne Park hospital will provide 24-hour emergency and critical care, 7 days a week.
- Perth Vet Emergency will begin operating under the Animal Emergency Service (AES) name.
- Emergency veterinary care will be available 24/7 across AES Osborne Park and AES Cannington.
During the transition period, you may see both PVE and AES names used as we help pet owners become familiar with the change.
Why Are We Changing Our Name?
Perth Vet Emergency has been part of the Animal Emergency Service network for many years. As our organisation has grown across Australia, adopting a shared name is a natural next step.
This change reflects who we already are today: one connected emergency veterinary team working together to provide high-quality emergency and critical care across multiple locations.
While the name is evolving, our people and commitment to patient care remain unchanged.
A New Hospital for Perth
The transition to Animal Emergency Service coincides with another exciting milestone: the opening of our new Osborne Park hospital.
Designed specifically for emergency and critical care, the new facility will allow us to continue supporting Perth pets with modern equipment, expanded capabilities and 24-hour access to emergency veterinary care.
Together, AES Osborne Park and AES Cannington will provide convenient access to emergency veterinary services across Perth, ensuring pets can receive urgent care when they need it most.
Thank You for Your Support
We know that visiting an emergency hospital is rarely planned. Many families first meet us during a stressful and emotional moment, and we never take that trust for granted.
As we transition from Perth Vet Emergency to Animal Emergency Service, our promise remains the same: to provide compassionate, expert emergency and critical care whenever your pet needs us.
This is a new chapter for our hospitals, but it is built on the same people, the same expertise and the same dedication to caring for Perth pets.
From 6 October 2026, you’ll find us at Animal Emergency Service Osborne Park and Animal Emergency Service Cannington. Same trusted emergency team. Same commitment to exceptional care. A new name for the future.
